TACTOM Tactile Optical Micromanipulation

Applications

The goal of our maturation project is to identify potential applications and tasks that are difficult or impossible to achieve without our system assistance. We are therefore looking for several partnerships  with bio-physics and biomedical laboratories.

If you think that your work belongs to the following potential applications or can benefit from our technologies, please contact us!

Fully interactive tools

  • Delicate teleoperated force-based procedures such as manual sorting based on cells' mechanical properties, manual positioning of microscopic parts under friction constraints
  • Adaptable microtool actuator and force sensor (Micro-hand)
  • Fast diagnosis of pathologic cells through their mechanical response
  • Engineering of cellular tissue at cellular level
  • Tactfull manipulation and interaction in accordance with the invivo-like geometries of cells and molecules
  • Three-dimensional and complex micro-assemblies of cells, micro- and nano-tubes, molecules, MEMS

Module : high transparency haptic interface

  • Physiology and neuroscience research, accurate tool to investigate haptic perception
  • Surgical simulator for training in minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy and interventional radiology
  • Orthotic rehabilitation with large range of programmable impedance
  • Device for permanent contact and weak interaction with normal living organs such as a beating heart

Module : high dynamic vision

  • High speed particle tracking velocimetry
  • Tracking and characterization of mobile cells like bacteria
  • Fluorescence tracking

Module : microworld virtual reality

  • Educative initiation to the micro- and nano-world physics
  • Three-dimensional immersion in real tasks
